Introduction
Within Peninsular Malaysia rail market share has increased tremendously, especially for long haul freight movements and cross border (into Thailand) movements via the established land-bridge services. These provide hassle-free customs cross-border facilitation at the entry point.

JPL works closely with KTMB, the National Railway Corporation and together, it offers many choices and innovative solutions to the freight market. Our aim is to promote cost-effective and timely rail delivery to customers. JPL Rail’s effort in inducing cargoes movements using rail freight services has been successful and is recognized by the industry.

JPL also provides Inter-Terminal Transfer (ITT) movements of containers by rail at a very competitive costs linking JPB and PTP. Whereas for cargos to and from hinterland, a link-up with road hauliers is available for a full door-to-door service.

JPL Rail will continue to explore new opportunities to offer clients competitive, timely and quality services through strategic alliances with Inland Container Depot (ICD) Operators in both Peninsular Malaysia and Thailand. Rail freight services can be arranged on a pre-booking basis, either on a regular frequency, or on a one-off booking basis, tailor-made to each customer.
