Introduction
Meeting the demands of customers, JPL will transform most of its manual driven processes into fully driven integrated IT system called the Enterprise Logistics Management Systems (ELMS).The ELMS will serve as one of the technology driven projects for JPL to accomplish its vision and mission.
Objective
The ELMS will replace the current IT system with new and improvised modules. With the new system, JPL will acquire:
- a fully integrated logistics management system by means of seamless information flow and visibility throughout the whole operational processes.
- a decision tool in maximizing the deployment and utilization of resources.
- an increase in efficiency and productivity with online integrated system catering for the entire process of logistics both national and global.
- an improvement in operational workflow with the provision of a structured system driven process without disrupting the overall logistics processes.
- an improvement in the billing processes by the provision of a centralized invoicing throughout the multiple systems.
- a good customer relationships with the allowance of the right information at the right time.
Modules
ELMS implementation will cover the installation of the following modules.
- Warehouse Management Systems
- Transportation Management Systems
- External Haulage Management Systems
- Freight Forwarding Management Systems
- Rail Management Systems
- Shipping Management Systems
On top of this modules there will also be the general requirement and the collaboration modules, which consists of the followings :
