New Scania Trucks For Cost ReductionSubmitted by CBT on Sun, 19/10/2008 - 2:26am SCANIA recently announced the delivery of 56 units of the new Scania P380 6x2 haulage trucks to JP Logistics Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Johor Port Bhd. "This purchase shall reduce our operating costs at least for the next five years as Scania's new prime movers provide better mileage and reduced maintenance and repairs as compared with the old fleet that we sold recently," said JP Logistics chief executive officer Mohd Hanifah Abdul Kadir
As part of the purchase agreement, Scania will also provide comprehensive driver training to JP Logistics' personnel.
The training will cover fuel-efficiency and driving safety as well as a system to monitor the performance and operating costs of the trucks.
Scania South East Asia chief executive officer Peter Sjoblom said, "The Scania P-Series has been extremely well accepted by Malaysian hauliers since its launch earlier this year. This deal with JP Logistics is testament to that".
Scania's new P-Series trucks are available for various applications, ranging from rigids and prime movers for general cargo, container and fuel haulage, to heavy haulage vehicles.
